Welcome to unitas
Unitas is a cooperation of Christian homeschooling families located in Bowie, Maryland who hire tutors to teach our children using the disciplines of classical Christian education. These disciplines include memorization in the early years, progressing to logic, critical thinking and rhetoric in the upper level classes.
Currently, we offer classes for Kindergarten - Logic II (K-8th grade).
Philosophy
Unitas‘ Classical philosophy was developed from the writings of several authors. First, from the essay written by British author Dorothy Sayers entitled “The Lost Tools of Learning." In it she calls for a return to the application of the seven liberal arts of ancient education, the first three being the "Trivium" - Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. Secondly, Doug Wilson, a founding board member of Logos School explained the classical method further in his book, "Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning."
